Creative Movement Practices has announced its Summer production of The Secret in the Wings playing at the MATCH in Houston, TX.

Walking into one of the small, black box theater spaces at MATCH, all I knew was that I was about to watch a brand-new sketch musical about Drs. Percy Hinks and Adelaide Hibble attempt to discover a formula that reveals 'the mysterious love code'. I was not ready for the chaos that was about to ensue, leading to quite a fun show!

In observance of Black History Month, Brave Little Company will partner with 5 venues to present Grandpa's Garden, an original musical. This immersive and interactive piece for kids aged 5-12 and their families explores Black history through an encounter with the fictional Hollis family, and their traditions of gardening and making music. 

This December, Main Street Theater is bringing back the holiday favorites Miss Bennet and The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley via live, staged readings on Zoom.

The creative team has announced the cast of a new musical being produced in Houston. Lady of Agreda plays March 12 - April 5 at City Centre's Queensbury Theatre.

Main Street Theater opens its new Theater for Youth season with the wonderful musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, based on the beloved books by Arnold Lobel.

This unique, community-driven, devised theatre piece is being created by 100 members of Houston's refugee communities, including professional artists in all disciplines and first-time performers of all ages. Brave Little Company announces a new initiative, THE BIG "US" PROJECT, inviting children and adults in Houston's refugee communities to lead the creation of a large-scale, public performance piece to be shared with all of Houston in March 2019. Regardless of their level of artistic experience, participants of all ages will contribute to a performance that is truly reflective of our community. THE BIG "US" PROJECT is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.

SMALL BALL is a farcical, fantastical and downright fabulous basketball musical that tells a very human story about loss, love, and finding a home.

Unlock'd, a new musical by New York Musical Theatre writers Sam Carner and Derek Gregor will run at CityCentre's Queensbury Theatre from February 7-25 (Opening Night, February 16), in a new production in association with New York / Chicago producer Judy Loseff and directed by local Marley Singletary, featuring Houston-area talent.

Bayou City Concert Musicals will present the 2017 Kim Hupp Award to Eileen J. Morris, artistic director of The Ensemble Theatre. The award will be presented on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., on the Main Stage of The Ensemble Theatre, 3535 Main. The event, Serenading Eileen, will consist of a concert featuring some of the honoree's favorite songs and a reception immediately following the concert. Tickets are $75 per person. Proceeds from the event will benefit Bayou City Concert Musicals.

This story is universal, but the intricate score and stellar cast are unique and astounding.

Obsidian Theater in association with SRO Productions will stage the Tony and Drama Desk award-winning Broadway rock musical PASSING STRANGE for 14 performances  - February 9 though March 4.   Written by Stew and with music by Heidi Rodewald and Stew, PASSING STRANGE is a comedy-drama rock musical about a young black man's journey of self-discovery about family, cultures, spirituality, love, drugs, sex and music.
