STAGES to Present ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE, 3/13-6/23

In honor of the show's 25th anniversary, Stages is reviving one of the most requested productions in its history, Always...Patsy Cline. Penned by Stages' Founding Artistic Director Ted Swindley, this international hit musical had its world premiere at Stages in 1988 and has been winning hearts ever since. Based on a true story, this tribute to the legendary country music singer and her life-long friendship with devoted Houston fan Louise Seger is rich with down-home country humor and includes 27 of Cline's unforgettable hit songs. Susan Koozin and Melodie Smith return as Louise and Patsy.

Directed by Stages Producing Artistic Director Kenn McLaughlin, the production will feature Susan Koozin as Louise Seger and Melodie Smith as Patsy Cline.

Characterized by courage, generosity, ingenuity, and intimacy, Stages Repertory Theatre advances theatre and enlivens culture by producing new work, interpreting established work in new ways, and nurturing talent for the performing arts field. In addition to its MainStage season of plays, Stages introduces young audiences to the power and magic of live theatre through a range of additional education programs. Outreach programs such as the annual Surround encourage conversation about important ideas and issues, provide insight into other cultures and viewpoints, and help develop the next generation of citizens, artists and audiences. Now celebrating its 35th season, Stages is a member of the Fresh Arts Coalition and a constituent of Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national service organization for not-for-profit theatres. Stages operates under an agreement with Actor's Equity Association (AEA), the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States.
