DiverseWorks presents John Waters in his one-man show, This Filthy World: Filthier and Dirtier. This one-night-only benefit event in DiverseWorks' 97-seat theater replaces rge traditional spring gala and provides support for the visual and performing arts programming. A cocktail reception with Waters follows the performance. Tickets to the event on March 14, 2012 at 8:30pm are $250.

John Waters' one-man show is a "vaudeville" act that celebrates the film career and obsessional tastes of the man William Burroughs once called "The Pope of Trash." Focusing on Waters' early negative artistic influences and his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, and the extremes of the contemporary art world, this monologue elevates all that is trashy in life into a call to arms to "filth followers" everywhere.

This Filthy World: Filthier and Dirtier is presented in conjunction with Neurotic, an exhibition of Waters' photographic and sculptural works at McClain Gallery (on view from March 15-April 14).

TICKETS: Limited Individual tickets are available. Individual tickets to the event are $250 (all proceeds benefit DiverseWorks' artistic and outreach programs). Please contact Megan Batson, Development Assistant, at megan@diverseworks.org to inquire about availability.
